Are you happy with your sills?

Reason I ask is that whilst I’m loving most aspects of my V8 Vantage, it came with the N400 (or N420, can’t be sure) sills and I prefer the original ‘round belly’ look.

Does anyone with the standard sills fancy a swap?

Someone has gone to a lot of effort to try and imitate an N400.

It s got the sportskit sills, sports kit wheels, I d trade for the wheels if their good nick and not reconditioned, but I d have to find a standard set to buy first for the trade.

What do the door plates say?

It was delivered from new with the sports pack hence the wheels (which I’d want to keep). The N400/N420 sills were fitted later in its life. If noone is up for a swap then I may try to source some standard ones from a breaker or similar, and resell these ‘N’ ones.

For model year 2009 to 2012, you are correct in saying the 5 spoke road wheels were part of the harder suspension option (Sportpack). Those wheels are now very difficult to obtain, especially the non diamond turned. I don't know what owners do if they damage a wheel.

The non-Sportpack cars were fitted with the wheels in the photo below, a design that you can occasionally see on a Ford Focus, obviously narrower rims.

The original standard sills (V8) ran from 2005 to 2012, then were replaced by sticky out sills for model year 2012.25 onwards.
I cannot remember whether different sills were a new car option, but some owners retrofiitted different sills. As mentioned there were different ones for some special models and also on the V12V.

It might be simpler just to buy standard sills and then have them painted.

I'm with you Kith ... I much prefer the look of the VH Vantage with the rounded 'tucked under' sills. One of the reasons why it took me a little more time in selecting the car I bought some years ago now.

I have a standard set of 19” Vantage wheels in very good condition (one front rim minor kerb mark),complete with matching set of Bridgestone tyres (average 4.5mm tread, manufactured 2015), valves/TPMS and centre caps if you’re interested.

Thanks mate appreciate you reaching out, but I own an N400 roadster, which is and I plan to keep as original as possible. I have actually had my alloys refurbished and re-diamond cut back in January.

I was speculating on having a spare set of the sports pack wheels in case damage occurred as they are so rare to find these days.

Did these wheels come either painted or diamond cut? Mine are painted silver but I would like to have them powder coated anthracite with diamond cut face.

Yes.

The standard new fit wheels were painted, but cost option diamond cut wheels were available.
The appearance of diamond cut are obviously different, with 90° edges to each spoke.

Obviously a personal choice, but on a car with so many gentle body design curves, maybe wheel spokes with curved edges are more appropriate.
I don't know much about the matter, but have been told that diamond cut wheels can only be refurbished twice.

Your car looks just like my car!

Mine has the N400 engine upgrade, side sills, wheels and suspension. Also has a sports exhaust with black tips, carbon front lip, carbon rear diffuser and clear rear lights. All fitted at an AM main dealer.

The only original parts I have are the wheels which came with the car. All the mods were done before I bought it.
