And that throbber is no less than me!

Being a gentlemen of a certain age that has recourse to use spectacles, it was remiss of me to not read the label on the spray bottle of "Moss Killer" that I found unopened at the weekend. I really don't know when I bought it, but having made my lawn lovely, thought 'why not?' and sprayed the moss killer on what little moss my lawn had - right around the edges.

It is called "Moss Killer" on the bottle, and must be total weapons grade weedkiller. In the small print, too small to be effectively read sans specs, it says 'not for use on lawns'. Bugger.

So - will this have tainted the soil and poisoned it OR can I maybe over seed with some top soil? I am thinking that if the grass died in less than 3 hours, then the Novichok within may destroy lawn seed.

It was all going so well!!

Very effective.

I will have to get my glasses out and check.

Will almost certainly break down, or at least leech out of the soil fairly quickly (into the ground water where it will eventually cause three headed babies to be born in Slough). I'd be surprised if this episode is anything more than a temporary embuggerment. But don the reading glasses none the less ...

give it 3 or 4 weeks, it may well spread and come back.

If it doesn't just reseed a small part first to see if it will grow. No point wasting a load of seed to find you've killed the soil.

Have you got any left? If yes, use it to put some stripes in the rest of the lawn, they’ll really stand out!

Nice one. Eagle eyed person. Yes, it's a bit of gadabout and I like it for its simplicity. I hope my underwear was not on the line too!

Yeah you're OK for underwear, but someone's replaced your Castrol GTX parasol with a pink one, too.

At least it's only a little bit of the lawn. I knew someone who got their bottles mixed up and ended up killing 80% of their garden, the lawn was about the only thing left.

Need to know before we can help.

We divided customers into two categories - those who put half the dose on to save money, and those who put twice as much on to do it properly. We hadn't got up to (3) 'chuck it on without reading the instructions' hehe

You'll need more than glasses.

A kiddies microscope would help.
