Panamera 4 971 Servicing Advice
Discussion
Would love some advice from those with long Porsche histories.
I have a Panamera 4 from 2017 (971.1).
103K miles with FPSH and I've continued the extended warranty as I want to sell the car, but just love it too much.
The car had a major service last year at 82K, and whilst the car has been in with them to look at an engine light issue (possibly faulty sensor, but engine is also rattly so might need engine timing chain replaced) they have said the car needs spark plugs changing - would this have been done at the major service, or does changing every 20K miles sound about right?
Given it's been 20K miles since the last service, I'm also in two minds whether or not to get an additional service done this year - and whether to stick with Porsche or find a good indy in the West Midlands (would love suggestions!).
I will probably look to sell the car this year, and the current warranty will run out in August - I doubt anyone buying a car of this age will care about the Porsche warranty?
Would appreciate some advice from the wise old pistonheads on here!

Not sure about the wise, but definitely old I have a Panamera 4 from 2017 (971.1).

Re Porsche warranty: on the contrary, I think this would definitely help you sell a car of that age.

This is why this forum helps - you're absolutely right and my thinking has just been askew.

I think it's the sudden bills that's thrown me as I hadn't budgeted for £2.5K's worth of work when it's just in to sort out a faulty sensor and have a timing chain replaced!
I will ask if they can perhaps do some sort of deal to bring it closer to an independent; just bought a house so Capex is an issue!
Thank you!

100% a warranty will help selling a 971 especially if it s a hybrid. They get a lot of worried possible buyers coming from 970 models. What engine is in yours? And is it the sport turismo?
My car is the Panamera 4 so has the 3.0L V6 - non-hybrid! It's not the sport turismo, just the standard shape. I don't want to get rid of it, but having driven the Taycan Turbo S as a replacement for the last couple of weeks, I really do fancy something new!ATM said:

ThisHere is a Pan Am for sale. It mentions approved warranty quite near the beginning. To me thats one of the biggest selling points.
Have a look ... then maybe consider selling yours on the same platform.

A Porsche Approved Warranty is in place, which expires on 17 November 2026.

What do you want to get for it?
The reason I ask is there have been a lot of private sale Panameras for sale that have been for sale for a very long time.
Many that were at £45k, dropped to £40k and then to £35k. But still sat there.
You now have them from £27k with 100k miles on them.
Now, will spending £2500 add £2500? On a £40k car I would say yeah, on a £27-30k car I'm not so sure.
If it were me I would advertise is now, while there is warranty left, the new owner can then chose if they want to extend it in August.
How much will Porsche charge for doing the plugs? Do you need them done for the warranty work to be done?
I would get the warranty work done and then advertise it. Make it one of the cheapest out there and with some warranty remaining, even if a month or two, it will be very appealing to buyers looking at this end of the market.
