A new thread as I can't seem to add to the one in the archive.

My girlfriend talks in her sleep, although the words she uses are like no language I've heard. Its as though she's speaking without any vowels; and no, its not Welsh. smile I just wondered if anyone else has experienced anything like this with their partner, or been told they do it.

When I was a kid, my younger sister slept in the adjacent room to me and I would often hear her talking in her sleep through the wall, late late at night.

Again, not any real words. Don't know if she still does it!

ETA based on next poster: she did swear a lot, like very very slurred swear words is how I would best describe (she was very young so not drunk biglaugh)

I speak in my sleep alot. Apparently I have arguments and swear in my sleep which is odd as I typically don't swear in day to day life!

Another sleep-talker and laugher here.

Apparantly you can ask me questions while sleeping and I will respond, but no necessarily with the answer expected. Its not got me in any trouble ... yet.

Daughter does it on occasion, the most bizarre statements. No recollection of it the next day!

I woke my wife up several nights in a row talking in my sleep.

Notable examples…

Being very worried that I’ve left my ankles downstairs (2 nights in a row)

Being utterly furious about pigeons, calling them (so she said) ‘feathery wkers’ - that went on for about a week.

Ex wife used to do it loads. It was normal English but the content was gibberish.

Can remember one about bin bags or something.

Was always fun deciding whether to just lie and listen to it and see where it goes or reply and see if you could steer it in a certain way.

apparently if something is stressing me I talk in my sleep,
my wife says she can hold a limited conversation with me,
if she tells me to go back to sleep I turn over and sleep,

I don’t talk in my sleep. Which made it slightly awkward when I apparently uttered “Ooooh Lucy” in the middle of the night. For the record, my wife’s name isn’t Lucy…

Irritatingly, I also rarely remember my dreams, ‘cos it sounded like that was one worth remembering….

My daughter does it on occasion, 99% gibberish. Though, the other night she just yelled out 'stop!' Wife and I jump up to investigate only for her to be soundo.

Many years ago when my son was small I stuck my head in his room before going to bed and he was singing the Thomas the tank engine theme song in his sleep

Off topic, but annyone else had the time where your wife/girlfriend/whatever dreams you’ve been unfaithful and won’t speak to you the next day?

If I had too much to drink I would spout French in my sleep, my Mrs reckons I was having a conversation with a French drinking buddy.

Stopped drinking, stopped sleep talking.

Had that with my first proper girlfriend, who was a complete narcissist. She even slapped me because of it once.

Also being a sleep talker, apparently she once took the opportunity to ask me if I'd ever cheated on her... "Oh yeah, all the time." was my response hehe From the way it pissed her off I wholly approve of my subconscious trolling the bh.

My daughter (3yo) also sleep talks, and it's usually something involving her friends and/or Peppa Pig. Seriously cute when she does it.

I've been told my Scots accent *really* comes out when I do it, which is a lot.

Been known to wake myself up with it... Shrugs.
