Hi hope everyone is ready for next week. im currently doing final prep for my 3rd trip to Le Mans.

I received an email about access to ACO areas yesterday stating that we'd need a QR code to gain our wristbands and that this email would come today the 3rd June. I purchased access when I renewed my ACO membership before early ticket access. Has anyone received this email yet?

I've received the email, but with only one ticket / QR code, but I booked for me +1.

Edit. Ignore that. Just noticed the ticket has my name and Guest under it too. Nice to be able to download and print it too.

Ah ok. I've emailed them anyway. I'm sure they aren't that busy at the moment laugh

wouldn't bother with the members area by dunlop - so overcrowded it was awful and queue for beer just as long as outside .. total waste of money to go to that area now - I like the viewpoint but just not the jam packed oversold nature of it.. the ACO needs to at least double the size of that space for the amount of tix they sell for it. I know they've restricted the numbers a little this year but be warned if it's your first time there..

It is very busy, but I suspect last year in particular there were an awful lot of people without a wristband in there. I think ours got checked once all week. I saw this years wristbands have chips in them, but whether that makes a difference we will have to see.

Well, the ACO replied to my email quickly enough, but then resent my guest ticket instead of mine ! I have replied again asking for my ticket, but not hopeful of a quick reply this time. Hopefully my membership card and the order confirmation will do when we get there. From what I see on Reddit it's quite a common problem.

Edit: Just called the ACO. You don't actually need the QR code, you just do as previous years and show them your membership card. I assume the QR codes are just to try and save time.

Can anyone else still feel the ACO wristband on their wrist, even though they took it off a week ago ? It wasn't even on tight. Or am I just wierd ? laugh

Yeah, I know what you mean. I usually keep mine on for a day after I get back to try hold on to the feeling of being there. Now off, but on the desk in front of me while I have the race on my home PC in the background while I'm working.

Didn’t notice bands so much this year as recently started wearing a watch again after about 4 years off. ACO and camping band were fine this year until I tried to get campsite one off.

ACO site at La Chappelle was good this year - more food outlets and seat and tables inside and small TVs - so with that and the weather it was a lot easier to get a seat and shade outside than last year when it was rammed with people just watching the TVs

You also get access to ACO stand bar and toilets and showers downstairs and I think there is an outside bar there

You get a small discount on beers and food and possible a better choice and small queues plus extra toilets etc

Also get a program + race card book, track map and a canvas bag (dull this year)

Makes more sense if you are up at track Wednesday and Thursday and not just race days. Works well at Chappelle if you have parking or stands up near Dunlop bridge.

Your last point is a good one. We arrive early on a Wednesday morning and both La Chapelle and T17 are great places to be for food, drink and relaxation before it gets too mad.

I was unconvinced about the Members area based on feedback from previous editions but opted for it to see for ourselves.
We both thought it was actually a really good addition to the weekend.
The Georges Durand area was handy if you were over that way but limited on space, obviously great if you had a seat in the stand.

The large Chapelle area was the main bonus. The views from the banking are good, food was very promptly served even when it was busy, lots of space, great big screen with plenty of seating and grass to watch from.
Only negative was the loos there were a bit limited but on the whole I'll definitely do it next time.
As mentioned it's very handy if you have a grandstand seat near Dunlop (we were in the Goodyear stand).

Only mental challenge I have now is whether to opt for Goodyear again next time or T23 Ford Chicane - they both have their merits.

There was a toilet block outside Chapelle, behind the bank on the left as you came out. It was quite hidden so always pretty empty.

agree - it was a lot nearer the main food and open air seating bit too.
