We have an old Dacia Duster as a dog / tip run car and the front wheel arches are bubbling. I'm not too bothered, so was going to buy some of the stick on plastic arch trims, but I may as well rub them down first to get rid of as much of the corrosion before fitting the trims.
Is there a half decent spray or brush on rust treatment / preventer or shall I just Hammerite the edges and then slap the trims over the top ?

Getting as much rust off as you can makes sense, you could use rust converter then paint them, Bilt Hamber's stuff works well.

What i would do is paint marine grease all over the wheelarch which is going to be covered by the trims, inside too, marine grease is cheap enough from ebay.

Flap wheel back as much loose as you can then apply something from bilt hamber or jenolite.
Hammerite is rubbish these days but will be better than nothing.
