Plenty of choice, but at the budget end...not really a thing a CW unless you visit the Spoons....
Breakfast Club - located above the Elizabeth line station
There's Docklands Diner (at Canons Workshops - just off the wharf) attracts a lot of the trades people but the food is good and well priced (just don't expect Avocado!)
Lunch's - well the there's the usual Nandos, Browns etc (high street names). Some places do specific lunch offers based on a meal + a drink (a bit like Spoons but far better quality) the two I can recall are;
sports bar - above the Elizabeth Line do a meal + a drink (add £2 or so if Alcoholic)
Big Easy - again above the Elizabeth Line

Visiting London tomorrow for the first time in a while. Will be staying in Canary Wharf and are looking for recommendations for breakfast and lunch/dinner. The budget is modest so no Michelin star restaurants please, unless they are inexpensive.
Thanks
When you say modest what does that mean to you? I never understand why people think others would be able to relate to such phrases. Some on here baulk at paying a fiver for a meal, others are happy to drop £300 per head. What is the criteria or monetary level for modest?Thanks
We like Canary Wharf as it easy for parking and everywhere is within easy walking distance.
Lots of tall building make it tricky to get your bearings so have a good look at the map and layout before you go.
If the weather is good we like Gauchos (Argentinian) or the Chinese restaurant right next to it. Both of these are just beyond the pathway by the Thames. Great for people watching along with water traffic and even aircraft running in to London airports.
A step up if you like good food is Hawksmoor. If you like steak this is a given. If you prefer fish they are also good and we suggest you check out the menus online for any of the restaurants we and others suggest. We always do this in advance and then we are not under so much pressure when sitting at the table.
We tried Dishoom on recommendation but we were totally underwhelmed and would not go back. All crammed in and service felt rushed and we like to take out time to savour the food, relax and enjoy the surroundings.

Thanks for the replies. Sorry for being too vague. Was looking at a main course being under £30.
Amerigo Vespucci should fit the brief nicely as a proper sit down place for that budget.Hawksmoor is very expensive now and the one in CW is one of the worse branches.
Big easy do a great lunch deal but the food is fairly average and not worth paying full menu prices for.
Also Ippudo and Din Tai Fung in Crossrail place if you're after Asian food.
