Simon Yates. Giro d Italia 2025. It must be the standout British win for any sport this year.
It s a film story waiting to be made emotion, redemption, a twin brother in the rival team, and much more.
Failing that, Visma do some "inside the team" Youtube content, although it's not usually very good. Hopefully they will have something decent for this one.It s a film story waiting to be made emotion, redemption, a twin brother in the rival team, and much more.
Exciting stage yesterday. Carapaz and Yates both risked their podium positions to try to improve or win the race, whereas Del Toro didn't seem willing to risk losing 2nd in order to actually stay in pink. Not sure that's a decision he (or was it the team) will look back on with satisfaction. Obviously he's done well for a 21 year old in his first GT, but to think he could still have won it with a bit more aggressive riding...
Yep great win for Yates after what happened in 2018 to achieve it in a similar manner in which he threw it away is incredible. Always had a soft spot for Carapaz as he is an old school explosive racer who goes again and again, and would have been good to see a smaller team win as this is going to happen less and less with the bigger and bigger budgets in cycling. Still no idea what UAE and Del Toro were trying to achieve, or if they were so concerned about Del Toro blowing up and losing the podium completely with Gee close behind, that it was mark Carapaz as then you'll definitely finish top 2. But he seemed plenty strong enough to respond to all the attacks.

Are you Rob Hatch? It s a film story waiting to be made emotion, redemption, a twin brother in the rival team, and much more.
He was having a full on stacked orgasm when Yates was a km from the finish? It was a bit much!

Nah it was great, I was buzzing as I remember 5 years ago and what happened I was genuinely happy for the bloke and think he should be applauded. He was having a full on stacked orgasm when Yates was a km from the finish? It was a bit much!
Rob hatch can be a bit much I agree but on this occasion it was completely justified!

It was a great performance up one climb im not sure it s film worthy just yet. Win the Tour and we can talk.
Over the moon for him but let s not get too excited.
He just won the 2nd most important stage race, he did it by averaging 450ish watts for an hour 19 days in, he looked to be fading for the 4 days prior to this then BANG, dominated the hardest climb of the race. Over the moon for him but let s not get too excited.
Why wouldn't we get excited it's quality!

People need to stop this obsession with the Tour........It's a bloody pain in the arse; cycling exists the other 49 weeks of the year. It's no surprise the sport isn't as big/successful as it could be when 3 weeks in July has a hold on so many. Over the moon for him but let s not get too excited.

Good performance that won him the title but did he win one stage outright?
Hardly going to make a blockbuster film out of it.

he didn't dominate the stage, he didn't win it. He won by the capitulation of the two main protagonists; both of whom deserved the win over him.

I didn't say he did dominate the stage, I watched it, I think UAE made a tactical error or he just didn't have the legs? Great to see Carapaz smashing it again love his racing style but his style will always mean that he has the potential to capitulate (peak alaphalipe style). I am happy for him, and joyed by another Brit winning a grand tour
I will stop answering now as clearly you have some downer on him or something as clearly he deserved to win it over anyone else as he got to the end of the 3 weeks ahead of everyone else, not sure why he wouldn't deserve it.
Yates won the Giro because (in large part) he was the smartest rider, and his team’s tactics were better than the others when it counted.
Moreover, each race has its own character and distinct challenges. For instance, I’d struggle to imagine whether the Tour or Paris Roubaix is the harder race.
