I'm surprised a thread hasn't already been started for the 25/26 season, but we are thinking of a change from Tignes and looking at returning to Belle Plagne in Feb 26. Anyone got good recommendations for a small hotel with close to ski in/out?

Thanks in advance.

If I were you, I'd avoid La Plagne in Feb. It's the most visited ski resort in the world and Feb is peak busy! Especially if you clash with a big french holiday too.

The lift system there is one big bottleneck - although once you're up and about you'd probably be ok. I only ski on Saturdays in Feb so I never really see the full queues aside from on facebook etc.

Hi Tim, many thanks for the reply. Is La Plagne any worse than Tignes in Feb HT? Only been there once before over NY and was really busy on NYD, but figured that was typical.

Where would you recommend in Feb HT, given we have zero choice on date due to taking the kids? Is there any particular French Alps resort that handles the busier times better than others? I can't wait for the time we can go outside of school holidays!

Obergurgl booked for end of February 26, but will probably not be able to wait that long and squeeze another one in before then.

Prices seem to have gone up again 😕

Currently looking at Italy. Haven't been there since I was a teenager (Cervinia).

Any recommendations?

Not a family holiday. Group of gents, between 35 and 50. All good skiers.

Morzine for the family trip is in the bank for Feb and we’re just in the process of organising the lads trip for Jan - likely to be Gerlos in Austria. Can’t wait.

I don't like to be negative but went to Sestriere a couple of years ago and would never go back. Everywhere can have bad snow, but coupled with that was rubbish restaurants on the mountain, bang average apes, poor piste bashing over night and some really old lifts.

Peisey Vallandry in Les Arcs for me - 2 weeks from 27 Dec and then an additional week at the end of March. Buying a season pass effectively means the third week is free!

Looking forward to it already - haven’t even booked a summer holiday yet…

We had a really good week in Valtournenche this year. Poor Vis many days but some ace skiing and great scenery especially round the Swiss side of the Matterhorn.
