Anyone considering?

Seems to be pretty hard to be offered an A.

The A I believe reserved for VIP clientele, 6 cars in current ownership etc etc.

Coupe is readily available, personally I m going to pass as most hybrid Ferraris have dropped like a lead balloon and I don t see the speciale escaping this, bar the A.

I wasn t overly sold on the 296Gts and ended up backing mine to the dealer due to a multitude of issues, or that in the three times I drove it something either fell off it or broke, the dealer was quite frankly abysmal in their after sales support which soured the car completely for me. Was a shame as my previous sf90af didn t miss a beat in over 12k miles.

that does not sound good, even on my 355 stuff did not just fall off - thought they had quality control / consistency more or less dialed nowadays. The 296 is really pretty to my eyes, shame about your issues.

That sounds terrible. Mine has been rather impressive so far, and the long warranty support did kind of reassure me. Not jumping in to take max depreciation and add €200k to get a Speciale as, apart from other reasons, the GTS is astonishingly capable and fun and the roof off bit just makes it perfect for me. I'm probably never going to track it other than briefly and gingerly. But giving it back like that over reliability - that would crush me as I have only one supercar, its not part of a fleet for me. Sorry to hear it. What did you get next?

It was a multitude of things that made me back it, mainly the (main) dealers attitude and how they handled the whole situation.

I had lost faith in the car and also their ability to deal with it correctly, given they were already trying to flout the Sales of goods act 30 day right to reject by firstly not refusing to take the car back, and then secondly by offering £8k less than what I had paid, this was at day 28 where it had been in my possession for 8 of those days, and was still sitting at the dealer un repaired - no courtesy car had been provided either in any of that time.

I knew that after 30 days if anything else went wrong they were going to be a problem to deal with and unfortunately once something has been soured for me it loses all appeal.

I purchased another Urus Perf around the same time so am currently suffering that. I think I ll wait till next year and jump into an sf90af Spyer once they ve inevitably dropped another £100k hehe

I'd have one for list price but it becomes too expensive when you have to stomach £150k depreciation on a 296 just to be able to get one and imo the non-A will also lose quite a bit of money

That's pretty much what I was thinking.

Not for sale, agreed. But that’s not far off what dealers are bidding for them.

Are GTS's on the same trajectory? Not that I actually care too much as I have decided it is a keeper.

I think they will find their floor / are possibly there already. The 720S and 600LT also dropped like a stones and I think have stabilised. New cars are just so bloody expensive - salaries of well-off but not rich people have not kept pace with the increases in prices of these cars imo - combine that with more and more models and that is not a great recipe

Plus there is a such a back catalogue of really great cars, such as the ones you listed, to enjoy for a fraction of the money. Troubled waters ahead I think.

fully agree, for many people the additional tech and even higher theoretical speeds in the new cars do not add anything to the experience and for some arguably detract from it

Here's the thing - I bought the GTS not because it is faster/newer, but because it is the best thing to drive since the 458 (my opinion only). It is the first mid engined entry level (Ho Ho) Ferrari to be as much or more fun than the 458 since the 458. If it had been another, faster F8 I genuinely wouldn't have bothered.

I did write "many people" smile
I agree with you, I am very tempted by a 296 - in my case because I think it is the prettiest Ferrari since the 355. I am not a fan of the headlight design of the 458/488 generation, not a fan of the 430 design and kind of warming to the 360, but still no comparison to the 355 and the 296. I would buy the 296 in spite of the tech just because of looks (I would prefer a car without any screens, but those times are sadly over). I am also sure it is awesome to drive (maybe good I did not go on one of those test drive events in Italy, otherwise I would probably own one already....)

ha I knew it - I confirmed I will attend (after a few drinks) and then cancelled about 48 hours later (sober). I remember going to the Lusso test drives in the mountains and contemplating ordering one at the bar in the evening.... one of the most memorable drives of my life was the drive to get there - at like 1am up the mountain on a completely snow covered road all alone on the road in the FF - sideways around every corner, so much fun
