Green invasion! Population size doubles in 10 years
Discussion
We see them in our garden too. Usually in the evenings during summer and they are loud but not annoyingly so.
Can't believe a whole population exists due a small number of birds being released. I guess we started that way as well

Some believe the species became established in 1950 after birds were released from the jungle set of “The African Queen”, built in the London area.
Another theory is that the recording artist Jimi Hendrix released a pair in Carnaby Street in 1966.

I went to a rugby match, level 4, at a ground in the London outer suburbs, this around the late 2000s. I was setting up my camera in the stands when I saw a dark cloud coming across fields towards me. It looked surreal. It was joined by a smaller cloud. They came over a hedge and then soared into some trees around the ground. Thousands of them. You did not want to look like a seed. Noisy. They settled down but as the pitch lights came on, they got a bit restless.
I asked one of the other spectators, and it was obvious he wasn't a fan.
They looked very pretty.
