‘There appears to be a crack in the nearside rear brake calliper’

Is it possible to provide a photo and to further clarify as this doesn’t appear to be referenced on the service paperwork? Looks like a new caliper is about £4k.

Hi there

I believe I can see the photo you are referencing, on the nearside rear wheel.

On the rear brakes, there is metal plate carrying the AMG branding that is separate to the rest of the calliper. The crack in the paint (or plate) is on this separate part, not the overall calliper.
I've looked for the part online and on some SLK forums and it appears to be a simple/affordable part to replace.

The plate is not something I'd actually noticed until the extensive photos of the car came back!
It was not picked up as an issue on the car's last MOT, or during time at an MB independent specialist in May this year where the car had a full service and any advisory work undertaken.

I will take a look at the car this evening after work and provide some additional photos.

Thanks, hope this helps to put your mind at ease!

In addition the seller has provided these closer images showing the plate crack and not the actual Calliper. hope this helps
