Hey,

We are in the process of buying a house that isn't connected to mains and we need to put a new sewage treatment plant/tank in.

We've had two quotes that are pretty similar prices. One for a Marsh Ensign 6 person sewage treatment plant and another for a 5 person GRAF treatment plant.

This is all new to us, so was hoping for some advice on which system is better.

For context, currently it's just me and my wife but we are planning for kids and the house is a 3 bed semi with annexe/guest house

Thanks in advance

Assuming there's a septic tank in there at the moment? What's the reason for upgrading as that will determine, firstly, if it's necessary and secondly, what type you need.

We have a Marsh ensign system. It had been installed a couple of years before we bought the house, so would now be approx 6 years old. I cant tell you much other than it has worked without issue in that time.

The existing septic tank is brick built with a Mantair conversion unit which currently doesn't meet the binding rules. The tank is thought to be 50+years old and is crumbling.
