Rescuing an xfr
Discussion
Hello. I’ve had this xfr for a week or so now. It’s been eventful already.
One shredded tyre
First time driving in traffic it’s overheated, fan unit failure.
Upon fitting a new fan unit , I’d jacked it up, then found this delight.

The near side is actually not as bad. I’ll bet a lot of them this age are similar under the sill covers , as the foam is great at holding the moisture to ensure a nice damp area. I’m ok with a welder .
I do like the car, it’s non sunroof and decent colour. It also needs a good machine polish, and the wheels and callipers refreshing. The cam chain is tight and the supercharger play is minimal, the coolant pipes and disks and pads have been recently replaced, so that’s nice.
Anyone know a regular problem causing the po441 code to keep popping up ?

Following.... I test drove (and loved) an XFR a few years back - same colour, and I'm pretty sure it was a 60 plate.
I didnt buy it mainly because I persuaded the garage to stick it on a ramp as I suspected it was somewhat crispy underneath - it didnt take long for me to turn off. Hadn't realised they rot like an old Ford Escort!
I was after a daily driver to just put (lots of) fuel in, not a project car, but that will be an absolutely mega car once sorted!
