X350 XJ Help: Newbury, Berks
Discussion
Bit of a call out to anyone in Newbury with an X350 XJ for some help, please.
I've previously replaced the fusebox on my XJR because the relay for the lambda sensors had failed. Stupidly I then threw the old one away - I'm constantly being nagged at to not "hoard" things, and this is another example of why I do...
Anyway, some time later I realised that the horn wasn't working and assumed it was down to the new fusebox relay (again, one of those little ones on the inside board, thanks Jag) so bought another fusebox off ebay. The horn still doesn't work and now I'm unsure whether I've been unlucky and bought two fuseboxes with a failed horn relay, or whether there's something else at play.
I've put power to the horns directly which has proven that they work when energised. I've tested continuity through the clockspring/squib ring and proven that's not the fault. What I really want to do now is to test the fusebox.
So, how can you help me? Ideally - and I realise that this is a bit of an ask! - I'd like to remove your fusebox and fit mine to test whether the horn works (and the other way around) so that I can conclusively prove whether the fusebox is at fault or not. I estimate this is about an hour of your time and I'd be willing to compensate you for the time and inconvenience with maybe a bottle of something.
Really appreciate any support a fellow XJer can offer - I'm tearing my hair out, and such a minor thing is stopping me getting an MOT.
Thanks all.
