The obligatory "how to fix Monaco" discussion
Discussion
It's a bit of a duffer these days. Today was different but not much above self flagellation.
Redesign the track (like in this x thread (easier to post pictures here)?

Change the race format?
Change the cars?

It does need fixed, in my opinion. A race where you can't overtake isn't a race.
Absent some more radical overhaul of the design of the cars could track changes not be tried? I can understand that there will be a reluctance on the part of the organisers to change such a historic track, but the layout has changed numerous times over the decades so what's a few more changes to try and keep it relevant.
That said, while Monaco has always been hard to pass on (See Senna/Mansell 92), I'm sure I remember more lunging pass attempts in previous decades. Is there something about the current cars that is making things even worse?

It's not a quick fix, I think the size of the cars should be reduced quite a lot, that will help the racing at all circuits, but especially ones like Monaco.
It's now just a fashion/ rich people parade, or them showing off who has the biggest wallet and boat. There's nothing for the proper F1 fan there now.

It’s a unique event, and really a showpiece for the Principality and the glamour of Formula One.
Rarely an entertaining race, but the one many spectators want to visit and most drivers want to win.
I wouldn’t discount the 2-Stop rule. It didn’t work especially well this time - but could have been different. Alonso should have parked on the track

‘Fixing’ the cars is a 25-odd race solution to a one race problem. Albeit, I agree the cars are too big and heavy.
The solution is to fix the track. With all the money in Monaco, I can’t believe they can’t create an overtaking spot.
What happened to the plan to reclaim land around Portier and extend the circuit?

Change the circuit.
Only make it much much longer.
In the same way as Nurburgring events use the Nordschleife and then the modern f1 track, only vice versa thinking.
The Monaco circuit, grandstands and pits are still used but at the end of the marina straight they keep going, link up to the D6007, A500 and A8 with a new road built to link back onto the D6007 and rejoin the old circuit for the start of the next lap.
This would allow passing and you can’t say it wouldn’t still be a spectacle!
