DUKW - AIrfix 1/76
Discussion
Another oldie and (possibly) a goldie. Airfix recently reissued their venerable (1966) 1/76 DUKW kit as a starter kit with paints and a brush. I picked this one up in my local Lidls for about £6.00 only a few months ago. As the mould dates back almost 60 years, Airfix should really have included this as part of their "Vintage Classic" range. However, depsite its age, the mould seems to be in good shape and there were no fit issues, at all.
It actually was a nice little project and, for me, a very fast build.
It wasn't really a nostalgia build for me as I didn't build any armour kits as a kid but I find these small scale armour kits very nice and therapeutic to put together. The fact that I'm not that knowledgeable about armour means that I tend to accept what the kit manufacturer presents. I'm a bit more critical when it comes to aircraft or space subjects.
I didn't take any pictures during the build so all I have to show is the original box and the completed model.
