So bored at cricket I ventured into NPE and though this worthwhile of comment:

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cvgvw2ydg33o

Cara is stockpiling disposable vapes as she's worried reusable ones won't work for her and she will go back to cigarettes...."with so much going on in my life what if I forget to recharge it" etc.

F me is it any wonder the UK is fckd with people and attitudes like this. I don't know people like this but they must be legion.

Imagine there are many like this and this attitude bleeds into and is taken in other life choices...why put rubbish in bin when I can chuck it out window, why pick up dog poop when it's about to rain. Etc etc

Funnily enough I read the same article this morning and thought exactly the same. It really does show the level of intelligence of some people.

Jesus F Christ rolleyes

Doing zero to fight to the vaper stereotype, there.

Her comment regarding her local shop - “I've been buying boxes of them from my local discount store. They're trying to get rid of them, so I've been getting ten vapes for £20” - would seem to suggest that, despite her apparent personal crisis over the issue, there doesn’t seem to be much of a mass panic to get hold of them before the deadline. Phew!

You weren't the only one hehe

Disposables have always struck me as the absolute peak of waste, single use battery and no way to refill when clearly it wouldn't be hard to allow you to.

Read about this on the BBC News app. The comments beggar belief!

I don't know what we'll do
wants to stockpile enough to get her through the summer
what if I forget to recharge my vape? And then I wake up one morning without a vape, or I run out of charge at work?
dreading 1 June when the disposable vape ban comes in.

They come across as a bunch of desparate, grasping addicts who think feeding their habit takes precedence over dumping plastic waste around the planet and the world is going to end if they can't. Got to get all my disposable vapes before they ban them because I'm too feckless to maintain a rechargeable one. Bunch of sad, pathetic, disorganised, druggie, deadbeat losers.

Nah, electronic pregnancy tests are one (small) notch above. At least a vape manages a couple of hundred uses, the test does 1! From a previous discussion on here it seems they’re basically just a paper test strip with a battery, sensor and LCD display.

I saw that article and it did rather take me by surprise. I initially assumed it would be about some sort of understandable concerns about increasing costs or lack of availability. But it does seem to be entirely about pure laziness. Embarrassing.

I'm sick of seeing them by the roadside as I walk the dog in rural SW Scotland. Thrown out by the imbeciles that use them. Maybe chemicals should be quietly added to them to sterilise those stupid enough to use them.

They might be banned but im pretty sure they will be for sale openly up and down the country in certain places.

They don't give a fk, you've only been allowed to buy vapes with 2ml tanks for years but for years you've been able to buy up to 20ml I think. all openly on display.

When you look at the kind of thickos that vape, are the comments in the article really that surprising?

Presumably she only has a landline because she's paranoid about forgetting to charge her mobile. No, thought not.

This. People that vape are too thick/ lazy to bin them. At least they smell slightly better than cigarettes

Wound me up loads when there was a massive thing about single use plastic straws and the banning of them (coming up to 5 years now) and yet disposable vapes seemed to get a pass; don't recall seeing a plastic straw on the roadside yet I see plenty of disposable vapes in various states of damage, littered about.

That woman in the article, it just beggars belief the attitude and the fact she isn't challenged about it!
