I have long been sat back in the shadows stalking PH without an account but thought that upon passing my A2 license it would only make sense to get involved and use the forums to document what happens with it in my ownership,

Here we have my first big (albeit restricted to 47bhp as per the rules) bike, a 2018 street twin 900 owned by my late grandad from new who unfortunately fell ill a relatively short while after leading to it never even receiving its first MOT until I got my hands on it a few months back

Lovely. You might want to look at changing the tyres if those are the ones it came with.

I was considering them in 2022-23. I cannot remember when they updated them with a bit more poke and changed the brakes.

The link to your late grandfather is quite something. The bike and jacket look good.

The bike was sat in my grandparents garage until i bought it so did think to check the tyres, they had no cracking or flat spots and with only 1400 miles on the bike the tread is barely used

They seem to be in decent enough condition but i have read that a better set of rubber makes a world of difference for these

I believe it was 2019 where they bumped up to 65bhp from 55 which with this being a 68 plate is a mildly irritating coincidence biglaugh

The MCN review of the updated bike used an image of one pulling a 45 Deg. wheelie. I don't do wheelies, but it looked good and made the point the updated one had more poke. Size wise they fit me.

Those exhaust header covers are a cool touch, a chap along the road has those on his 1200 Triumph twin, I think it's a Speedmaster or something, it seems Bobberish but isn't a Bobber.

The original factory supplied tyres are terrible for tram lining and give very little feedback to the rider, if you can get a pair of the Michelin Road Classics they are a lot better , or a pair of Bridgestone BT45s or BT46s.
I have done around 18000 miles on my Street Twin , they are very easy to live with and sound great with the standard exhaust.
Just keep an eye on the front tyre and front pads, I go through a pair of front pads every 5000 miles and the front tyre wears out at about 6000 miles, it's a heavy bike for just a single disc.
It's a pity it isn't a 2019 or later bike, as well as the power increase from 54bhp to 65bhp the front brake was upgraded to a Brembo, if you get the chance to ride a later bike you can really appreciate the difference.
