A seller on Etsy sent me a small item of Jewellery on 11/5. Value about £25.

Estimated delivery 15/5.

I have a tracking number but the information has not changed since 12/5.

It states that the package is in Leicester LE2 5PG. A sorting hub?

When I put the tracking number into the Royal Mail search facility it just states that an update will only be provided when they attempt to deliver the item.

Etsy provides buyer protection and I paid by PayPal so no worries there.

Does anyone know why the package might be stuck in Leicester?

Depends on what Royal Mail service they paid for, if they paid only for a basic recorded delivery type service then this is perfectly normal for Royal mail tracking, in fact I have one now i'm waiting for which is showing something very similar.

If they pay for a special delivery service the tracking is usually much better

Possibly it's been sent to the wrong delivery office and it's waiting to connect back up to the network again.

wait for network to reboot-sometimes parcel will be delivered yet royal mail still shows at national sorting office when at work and come home to find parcel delivered

Parcel Farce are an even bigger shower of clowns

Dropped a parcel at my local agent May 13th
Still there today, despite myself and the agent repeatedly calling PF to tell them and I even drove an hour from my home to the nearest PF depot to tell them, where I was assured it would be collected next day.

Nothing but lies and ignorance, yet Evri, who people moan continually about have never once lost any of my parcels.

my local DPD and evri drivers are great, postie from royal mail always moaning about bosses saying parcels take priority over everything so bizarrely his first run is parcels and if not many he does second round delivering letters but some weeks only get mail 2-3 days if lots of parcels like near xmas
