I've just taken delivery of a new Mokka electric on lease. I've been unable to get the app to show the e-remote functionality (remote climate, charge scheduling) so I emailed Vauxhall.
They have just come back with the following:

We are aware of the situation you are facing. This is due to the component shortage that the automotive industry has recently experienced, impacting the telematic box that enables the connected services on your vehicle.

To avoid delaying the delivery of your vehicle, Vauxhall has decided to build your vehicle with a component variant whose software version does not support all connected services. To resolve this situation and enable you to enjoy our full offer of connected services we are actively working to provide a new software version that will be installed in your vehicle over the air, without any action required from you.

The regulatory and safety functions Vauxhall Emergency call (e-call), and Vauxhall Assistance are of course fully activated and operational.

As soon as your vehicle is updated, you will receive an email to inform you to activate the newly available connected services using the MyVauxhall app. You can also check regularly in the MyVauxhall App if the services are available.

Has anyone else had this? It sounds a lot like false advertising around e-remote. I note they haven't included a fix for this issue and this car has been registered since March.

Sorry for TL:DR tale which follows.

The app and E-Remote gave me 6 months of total shambles. You get 6 months free allegedly.

All I can say is that Astra Sports Tourer delivered end October and the app and e-remote would not work.

I could get the phone to connect to the car on bluetooth and Android auto, followed the instructions to get the recognised connection, so had calls and playing audio files but nothing else.

First time contacted them was talking on phone to help desk when the agent suddenly said "This is weird, our system does not show your vehicle warranty." To which my response was, "That was going to be my next question as the app says the same."

What followed was 6 months of "Looks like PDI not done properly" from them despite vehicle book all stamped up. Eventually had to send them copy of V5C and they sorted it. Had no problems with vehicle like some have reported, car has been spot on. Touch wood.

But as for app despite following all advice, uninstalling, clearing cache cookies etc, reinstalling multiple times, following the turn your engine off 5 mins go for x drives minimum 15, 20, 30 minutes no luck. Resolved was not going to pay for the service afterwards.

In the last week or so of the free 6 months, parked up to get dog out for his forest walk, message appears on screen to install an update. Phone signal out there is very ropy so left it, got home later, message appears again and now I had a 4G signal and connected to house wifi. Set install going and when finished locked up and went inside.

Next morning sat at breakfast and out of curiosity had a play with the app. Everything now works, remote control of locking and unlocking, lights, horn, tracking state of charge, remote preconditioning and climate, journeys and mileage. Don't have to do anything it just connects and updates.

Took advantage of the offer of £1.04 for a month service and it's all still working so far.

Don't know how it compares to other apps but it seems OK, however reports on Play store are universally 1 star it's total garbage so clearly Stellantis have had major issues.
