Has anybody had any experience with one of these combined units?

Not ideal, but…

Found one of these in an ex social housing 3 bed I recently bought at auction. Not my idea of hygienic or practical but suppose if space is at a premium it’s an option. I ripped it out and having a normal loo and sink fitted for the incoming tenant.

These unit style ones are ok as long as the basin waste does not empty into.the cistern it will be good. Check you have the space each side of the pan to stand as otherwise leaning over is very uncomfortable.
Whatever you do do not buy one with the basin on top of the cistern.

Put something similar into a small flat 10ish years ago. They serve a purpose and not had any issues.

We had one almost identical to this in our last house, the only possible solution in a tiny understairs cloakroom.

It was fine to be fair. The supplied tap tails corroded through which lead to water flooding into the pan constantly until we replaced with better quality ones and no issues since. Had it for 6 years until we moved.

The water from the basin goes into the cistern. I guess as long as you don't go mad with soap it's not a problem.

We have that exact one by the look of it in our en suite (we also have a sink)

The toilet sink is too small to wash your hands in. Make sure you see it in person first

I find it handy for poring the water my wife does t drink every night away, as it goes into the cistern so doesn’t get wasted!

Dug a pic of ours of our albeit the seat is up. I found it ok for a hand wash but have to be careful not to splash the water.

Why do you have a combination if you have a basin anyway?

I have one like this, picked purely due to space constraints in my garage.
It was a bit of a pig to install, with the cistern separate and fixed to the wall first. Basin drains into the cistern and needed modification to drain correctly. No problems since installing a few years ago.

All the pipes run through the water in the cistern and rot quickly as they are not designed to be wet on the outside helped by emptying dirty water into your cistern which rots everything quicker.

My downstairs loo with limited space uses a Saniflow compact and a separate Washbasin. Has been fine since I installed it.

I’ve decided against one of these, I can see they’re a decent idea for an under stairs toilet, but mine would have been for my main bathroom.
