Hi,

I've booked a 5 star All Inclusive to Roque De Mar to travel next month with my wife and 4 year old. It was litterally a last minute booking without any of the typical research I like to do. I went ahead based on price and reviews of hotel and more or less guaranteed sun.

Any tips for those that been to that part of Spain before, also any recommended day trips? I enjoy beaches and bars/restaurants along promenades, something to keep 4 year old entertained, good wine and Sangria.

I've done a lot of trips Spain before including Barcelona (5 times), Valencia, Bilbao, San Sebastien, Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Majorca, Costa Del Sol (Malaga to Puerto Banus) so as you can tell do love the country.

You've got the Spaghetti Western Sets a little bit to the north such as Mini Hollywood. There is a second set where most of the eastwood films were made that is more realistic but Im struggling to find the link. if i remember it's literrly just past Mini Hollywood.

As above, mini Hollywood was really good and something different to do. There was also a zoo close by which was good, I'm sure there was a water park at the same place. Also the aquarium was a good couple of hours spent on very very hot days.
Its a while since we went so hopefully they are all still open.!

if you have a car you can get to Granada and Sierra Nevada (high mountains) and the Alhambra but maybe not with a Youngster in tow.

last time was in roquetas was about eight years ago. is what it is. beaches are big and clean, plenty of food n bars. we rented one of the four wheel bike things with a canopy and there is a wide path along the beach for a few miles you can use.

Almeria by bus or cab is... well its ok..a few sights and a shopping mall...

Book Alhambra miles in advance. Months if possible.
