I have a flight booked from Stansted to Nantes. I then have another flight booked around two hours later, with a different carrier from Nantes to Lisbon. I will have hand luggage only, so I won't need to pick up or check in luggage. I have a UK passport.

My assumption is that I will have to go through passport control at Nantes, because the Nantes -> Lisbon flight will be an inter Schengen one, so I wouldn't go through passport control at Lisbon.

Is my assumption correct, or will I be able to transit in Nantes without going through passport control?

Thanks in advance for any help provided.

Yep, you'll need to go through immegration in France after arriving on your first flight as there won't be any immigration controls at either end of the France/Portugal one.

The only question really is if you'll also have to exit/reenter security at the French airport. Larger airports will usually have a dedicated flight connections route that either has its own passport desks or lets you transfer from arrivals to departures 'beyond' the security line. I'm not seeing Nantes as a global hub airport though so you may have to just exit/reenter.

Thanks for your reply.

Ultimately, it doesn't really matter as I will have to do what is necessary on the day, but I'd prefer to be prepared, rather than trying to work it out when I get there.

Every day a journey

If you do have to present it in France count yourself lucky as Lisbon passport control is a joke.
