Hi all,
As the title suggests I have a puncture in rear wheel and it wont hold any air. I know its a stupid question but as I cant drive to a tyre place or remove the wheel does anyone recommend a mobile tyre service - Oxford region, and is there anything special that needs to be done after replacing the tyre? Its only done 1200 miles so assume I dont have to replace both tyres?
many thanks

Assuming that it has centre lock wheels on it, do check out the torque requirements on it, along with the tool to get them off. I forget the torque settings off-hand, as it's been a while, but I remember my eyes being somewhat out on stalks at the requirement. So they're not easy and they're prone to having the tool knackered by a run of the mill tyre shop / mobile.

Sorry that's not a great deal of help, but unfortunately it's one of those things to have your eyes open to before letting any old tyre place getting their hands on it.

Hi Big R
Thanks for the response. I have tried a number of mobile fitters and they wont touch it because of the value of the car so now its being trailered back to the dealers ! Hope this isnt a recurring problem!!

Hi Andrew
I didnt realise - but I do now- that I have paid for tyre and wheel failure/damage so has been transported to the dealers. I cannot find where the puncture is !

That's good! I actually have the same on mine. On a previous one it was about to expire so the wheels that had tiny chips (black wheels) were all nicely done-up - dealer offered to do it / claim it, and were v helpful all-in.

With the state of our roads re potholes etc I was thinking about buying the Sterrato wheels which are smaller diameter but have a larger profile - ie fatter tyres? I know this would not be so pretty as the current set up but its not great going for any drives with the thoughts of another puncture? Perhaps there are cheaper wheels on the market that will work?

Whilst I appreciate you may feel bitten by the puncture, I've had a couple of Huracan's over 8 years now and never had a puncture in that time. My Maserati... first 1000 miles I got a screw through it. This is just luck / bad luck.

I think changing wheels isn't really going to help you there, but may make it a bit of an odd-handling car. The Sterrato has been set up for it's wheels, in the same way a Tecnica has - which isn't for Sterrato wheels. I'd caution mixing these things around on a car like this.
