Shuttleworth 11/5
Discussion
I missed the opener this year but will be going later in the season. What a fab day for it.
It's a wonderfully relaxed and atmospheric venue, and like you say when the sun is shining there are few better places to look at old planes.
On the days when the weather is still enough for them to fly the Edwardians in the early evening, it's like stepping back in time. Magic.

Technically a R4-D (hence the Ready 4 Duty naming) rather than a C-47, and its the only remaining airworthy R4-D, which belongs to the Commemorative Airforce in Texas, and has made the long journey over from the USA for the VE-Day celebrations here and in Europe.aeropilot said:

Assuming the weather holds (!), is the Military Day at the end of the month a good 'show?
...I'm well overdue a trip there, that looked like a good option.
Depends what you want to see, with only seven visiting aircraft listed, most of which we've seen before we're giving it a miss. Details here:...I'm well overdue a trip there, that looked like a good option.
