Hi, does the Targa roof need a complete rebuild ?

The mechanism needs to be overhauled. It is the most common issue with Targa's and you likely would struggle to find someone who has done it before. Mechanism all there but parts would need replaced.
It has been disabled so that the seal cannot be broken by inadvertently pressing the button. Hope that helps

Thanks for reply. My local independent Porsche Specialist said refurbishing the Targa roof is a big job - £3.5 - £4k, they have done several. This is a complete replacement of all parts apart from glass.
Cheers

Lovely looking 911.

I see from the June 2024 invoice that it needs lots of work - front top mounts, wheels heavily corroded, tie rods, ball joints, condensers, bushes, exhaust - and MOT expires in June. Has any of this work been done, have you had quotes and do you know what is needed for MOT?

Thanks

Since June it has had ECU repair, head lamp polish, new ventilation chip, full polish and front and back bumper respray. Notes from last MOT in June were just that. Was in getting vent chip done in March and same Porsche specialist and did not mention that they needed to be done. Also, no work on IMS bearing when I check back through invoices from past 3 years
