Hi all, I've got an MOT booked for tomorrow, and just done some quick checks and seen the undertray is cracked and part of it missing.

Haven't got time to source a replacement, so do I:

1. Leave it
2. Gaffer tape/tie wrap it up
3. Semi permanent (Tiger seal) it up
4. Remove it totally

Just wondered if there's a requirement to have one fitted at all? Cheers all.

Unless it's flapping/dragging and likely to fall off it isn't anything he'll care about. I am assuming here that we are talking about the usual plastic undertray beneath the engine here.

My undertray has been cracked since I have had the car through 2 MOTs (it's on my list of things to replace, one day) and it's never been mentioned.

I seem to recall when I was looking at cars to buy, that the presence of an undertray was sometimes listed as an advisory on past MOTs on account of the fact that they can't see what's under it (though I am not sure that is the case any more).

Thanks guys. Yes it’s the undertray below the car (not engine). I’ve tie wrapped it up for now and now it’s not flapping or anything so hopefully it will be ok.

I’ll let you know tomorrow!
