I'm kinda getting bored of the stuff on my mp3 player at the mo. I'm looking for some melodic/vocal music along the lines of Evanescence/Nightwish etc.

Also, anyone know any good skater rock?

Rob,
Might I just offer www.koopatheband.com as a suggestion. It fits your second request rather than the first. The guitarist is a friend of my son's and writes most of the songs. Give the 'Proclaimers' cover a spin.....

O/T How's the Velocity??

Thanks, if it's not your thing you might consider passing the link on to anyone who might like it, they are good lads and promoting non-manufactured pop-punk is a hard slog!!

Will do. I've been listening to some stuff off their website and to be honest it's very good. The lyrics are f-ing fantastic. Nice to see a bit of English accent coming through as well.

That's right, a young british band who don't sing in American. Now consider that the lad who plays the guitar, writes the songs and sings most of them was just 18 this month....

IMO they'd do better if they stopped the shouting and concentrated on the proper vocals. He's got a good voice when he tries.

I have some genuine moon rock. It is among the very rarest substances on earth, and significantly rarer that Mars rock, which I also have a piece of.

Oh yes.

deep purple's Lazy is always good value .. as is (don't laugh) Avril Lavigne's live versions of Fuel and Basket Case (the green day track) .. but if you want something a little lighter my fave band of the moment are Canadians Hot Hot Heat, so check out their top toon Bandages .. makes me smile

other than that, if you wanna appear even slightly old school try anything by the Allman Bros band. If you're not doing 130 by the end of ny of their tracks you've got no soul
