Hello, my Aston Martin was bought from an Aston dealership when i was living in London. Now i am in Cyprus and no one has the AM prgrammer.

The door modules have failed and all the symptoms are there. Ive tried changing the battery, removing the fuses but nothing.

I was told from an AM engineer in England that to come to Cyprus and installed the updated modules would need programming and all that would cost £3000 (flights, labour, parts). That's way above what i was expecting and it's currently not an option.

Then i 've emailed another website which specialises in Aston Martin Parts, and they've told me that if i replace the modules with the old type modules it won't need reprogramming.

1) Could you please confirm that if i replace them with the old modules would it need reprogramming?
2) I've checked a lot on the internet and most of the websites are out of stock, The Part number for driver's side is AG43-14C235-AA

If you have any other recommendations please let me know.

The car doesn't unlock the pasenger seat, i cannot operate windows and mirrors of the passenger seat from the driver's sear. The convertible roof does not open, the diplays and speedometer and rpm are off while the car's engine is on and they intermittently come on and then off.

I also attached a photo of the failed driver's side door module.

Your help will be much appreciated .

Thanks ,

George

Not what you want to hear but I think modules need to be coded to the car…

Someone with more knowledge than me will be along shortly I’m sure..

Good luck!

If you can get used modules off a similar car then they will work and not need programming.

I have a 2006 DB9 Volante and got Pectron modules off a newer Volante and they worked without programming

Very long shot as the speedo etc are off and the car being a roadster, wonder if the Converible Roof Module has gone down as this can cause issue on the CAN system. May be worth pulling the fuse for the roof module, remove / reinstall the fuses for left & right door modules to power them down / reset and see if all faults bar the roof are cleared.

The speedometer and display come back on once the car is driven for approximately 10 miles. However the other faults do not

Failure of the Roof module will cause sorts of issues on the dash and elsewhere.
The guys at astonowners.com have engineered a fix for the roof modules. Exchange basis. £250

They are working on the original Castellon door modules and expect to have a fix (again on an exchange basis) within a month.

You will need access to AMDS if you swap from the original Castellon modules to the newer Pektron door modules. However, AML are out of stock currently.
