Renault Clio 182 Advice
Discussion
I’ve found a 182 local that I was looking as a project car. But I’m after some advice on this one:

What do you want to know?
Seems overpriced. You should get on the FB clio groups and ask there, LOADS swap hands.
As for the one in the ad:
s
t wheels and tyres (generally considered a good indicator for how it's looked after)
Coolant looks low
lots of scratches
Doesn't have (at least) 1 of the cup packs
Dash lights on (They all do at some point!)
Controls are scratched to death
5 years without a service
MASSIVE rust on arches
Walk away, there are better cars cheaper. (I've owned my 182 for 8 years, done 50+ skip runs in it and it's in better nick)
ETA: Seller says bodywork is VGC, b
ks!
As for any advise on any 182, be handy with a spanner. They are cheap and French and always need work. But they are bloody good fun when they work!

It does look a little worse for wear. I’ll have a look on some forums. But as this was local I thought why not. Do you reckon it’s worth about a grand? Seems overpriced. You should get on the FB clio groups and ask there, LOADS swap hands.

A grand perhaps. you need to check if the belts have been done, that’s a £1000 on its own!
I suggest you read up a bit and learn what’s what before diving in. Take a read of my topic for a scary insight. If it’s to learn etc, a bad car can sometimes be better! But you need to know what you’re paying for

He said he doesn’t think that it’s been done. Which is quite a worry seeing as he’s had the car 11 years. I’ve told him it’s around £1500. He said to make him an offer as he needs to sell it. Doesn’t think… if he hasn’t done that, there is no hope.
I urge you to walk away, there are so many better cars for a similar price.
