I'm looking for a flight to Munich and have looked at flights from Luton, which is the easiest airport for me to get to. There doesn't seem to be any direct ones though, they all either stop in Berlin or Prague.

Is there an easier way for me to find out where I can fly from and it not involve a change, or do I just need to try each airport one by one in the comparison sites? It would be useful in the future too.

You can do some fairly detailed searches on Google Flights which would let you see what's available: https://www.google.com/travel/flights

Also, sometimes a good starting point is to look at the wikipedia entry for the airport and that lists the airlines and destinations.

I'd hit up Skyscanner and search 'the wrong way', so look for flight from Munich to either individual airports, a region (certainly "London" works), or even the whole "UK", then search with the "Direct flights" box checked.

Or Munich airport’s own website. Most airport websites have a list of direct destinations, which usually means you can fly to them direct.

I find aviability.com the best way to find out what flights are available between two locations.

Google flights
Search non stop
Use London (all), not just Luton.

Date grid will tell you cheapest on a specific date.
If you want Luton only, use the date grid as well.

IIRC, Skyscanner only searches on the dates you want to travel, so it can miss flights that only operate certain days.
The timetable for the next week is here on Flightradar, https://www.flightradar24.com/data/airports/muc/ro... most airlines should be on their summer timetable by now so flights that operate on a particular day of the week will probably continue to do so into autumn. Beware though, it can often show freight flights or other non-bookable flights.

To answer the OP’s question, nothing from Luton, EasyJet once or twice a day from Gatwick, BA/Lufthansa several times a day from Heathrow

In SkyScanner when you're picking dates you can switch from the default "specific days" view to "Flexible dates", which lets you search across an entire month.

As above unfortunately Luton does not have any direct flights to Munich, although its not always 100% accurate checking an airports Wikipedia will give you a list of airlines and destinations.

The only direct flights this year were by MHS Aviation and Vistajet, both non scheduled airlines.

Shows up on flight radar if you search for flight by route.
