Owning a Suzuki Swift (AZG) - My Experience
Discussion
Hi All,
I thought I'd write a quick thread about what life is like owning a Suzuki Swift (AZG), the second-generation model. I know the Sport version is pretty well regarded on PistonHeads as a budget hot/warm hatch, so I thought I'd share what the regular version is like to live with and own.
A Bit of Background
Our Swift has been in the family from almost new — we bought it in 2015 with just 3,500 miles on the clock. Fun fact: we actually bought it two doors down from Gareth Bale’s parents’ house (seriously!).
It's had two owners from new — my mum was the second owner, and I became the third in 2023. But really, it’s just stayed in the family since new
. It’s now sitting at around 56,500 miles.
What It's Like to Own
It’s genuinely a fun little car to own and makes a perfect daily driver. It’s the ideal size, especially for me, since parking is really limited at the local shipyard where I work. The suspension setup is spot on too — some of our roads are pretty rough (some are like the surface of the moon
) and the Swift handles them really well without feeling crashy or uncomfortable.
Running Costs
Average MPG: around 45
On a motorway run: between 55–60 MPG
Final Thoughts
I know this is a brief overview, but if anyone has any more questions about what it’s like to own or live with a Swift (AZG), I’m more than happy to answer!

You've missed out the link to your camera roll and just posted a generic link - try copying and pasting individual links to photos instead. Also, it's called the ZC32S, not AZG.I thought I'd write a quick thread about what life is like owning a Suzuki Swift (AZG), the second-generation model. Hi, here are some photos that I said I would show of my car, hopefully they should work
Although it is probably one of the most non-PH cars on here

I suspect a base model Swift is a much better ownership proposition than most of the European superminis even without the badge kudos of a Polo etc.
Yes it is a much better ownership proposition than the likes of a VW Polo, Audi A1 and Ford Fiesta as it seems to me much rarer especially where I work and live, as it is usually a sea of VW Polos and Audi A1s and Ford Fiestas and as an PM Apprentice my colleagues seem to have Audi A1s and the like on PCP. It also has more or less the same amount of kit as all of them, as mine is a SZ3 it's middle of the road for spec and mine has Sat Nav as well that was only available for 6 months or so in 2015 on SZ3s apparently doing a bit of research, although it is pretty bad
