About 12 years ago I gave my daughter this widebody alfa 155. It developed a knock in the engine and she left it in her front yard for the last 6 years. I had bought it from A for Alfa in Aylesbury, who had a custom radiator mount, stainless exhaust system installed, lowered it slightly and chipped it. As a consequence, I have decided to have it brought back to my house and see if it worth restoring. Had a quick look underneath and while it has some rust seems to be not a write-off Will have a good look over in a couple of months, and, if it is not a total wreck, will set about sorting it out.

Not too worried about it not being worth it financially- up to a point. My initial theory is that £3K should get it up and running with a further grand after that for the small bits. Part of my theory is that the big end has gone, and it will need cambelt change and fuel tank flush alongside freeing up and replacing the brakes, plus some welding. If the chassis is a total wreck then I shall not bother Yes it is a stunning colour smile

Becoming increasingly rare now, so definitely worth an investment. Add the Camshaft Variator to the list of jobs, they fail regularly, and cause a top end rattle.

Also check if the diff has been upgraded. If not, it’s worth upgrading to prevent the need for a new gearbox (if they're available any more) when the standard diff grenades itself.

Had the exact same car...for 8 months....so many issues....so many trips to Alfa dealer, I had ordered the special wood gear stick and steering wheel, I kept going back every weekend to get it fitted only to return to tell me Italy sent the wrong steering wheel...7 times.... Mostly it looked right, but wrong model, then right model but not wood...etc etc , they also kept trying to fix the alarm, rear windows, leaky boot, exhaust falling off, intermittent pas fault,
Eventually traded it in for Toyota supra 3.0tt import
However Ive never stopped loving the feeling when it worked and I blasted up and down snakes pass on my commute each day. It touched the soul.

Good luck
