Just listening to the remastered version of The Kooks, Inside In /Out on Tidal. The sofa song. I’m thinking where is the bass guitar, drums. Switch to the original. There they are! It’s the same for a few tracks for Ok Computer.

Is this what is referred to as dynamic range?

Pretty much.

Sounds like a special version of the original for playing loudly in a noisy work/car environment. Bin.

Re-mastered means 'fkED up BIGTIME' - avoid anything LP or CD which claims to be 're-mastered'.
Even a well played 50 old original LP will sound better than anything you can buy new today.- Duh you go figure it out I can't???

Some remasters are worth owning, but without researching beforehand, you’re probably going to waste your money.
A lot of vinyl is shocking now, just a poor copy of a poor digital version, nice n cheap to make, loadsa profit.
