Anyone know what the breakfast offerings are in the Qantas, BA and Cathay business lounges are like and how early they're available?

thanks

How early are you going to be there? The Qantas lounge doesn’t open early and table service doesn’t start until quite late if memory serves. Cathay do an ok buffet.

BA opens at 5am, Cathay at 5.30am.

Was in the first lounges of both on Tuesday. If thats anything to go by, the cathay business one will be nicer than BA.

Ah ok, I don’t think the Qantas lounge is open at that time although I’m happy to be corrected. If you’re looking for a grubby fry up then BA is probably the answer and then beat a hasty retreat to the sanctuary of the Cathay lounge. I don’t understand why the Cathay lounge opens so early, their first flight out isn’t until lunch time but I’m glad they do!

Cathay do an English breakfast buffet and the dim sum bar I believe. Last time I was there was the first not business lounge so it’s been a year or so since I’ve checked that out at that time. Are there any up to date head for points articles on the subject?

I’ve not checked out the Cathay lounge at T3, mostly because the Quantas lounge is directly opposite the exit from security, so it’s 30secs and walk straight in.
Where abouts is the Cathay lounge pls? I’ll check it out next month when I fly to Helsinki.

Just remove BA from the list - it frankly isn't worth comparing to Cathay or Qantas. Don't bother going in there.

(Cathay gets my vote)

It's not on your list, but the AA lounge is pleasant (much nicer than the gloomy BA lounge!). They typically have a full english type buffet and pastries in the morning.

Turn left at the door to Qantas and on your right hand side 50yds or so along the corridor there’s an entrance way with a lift up to the Cathay lounge

thanks all this is not a comparison generally about ba/qantas/cathay lounges, as imo cathay beats the other hands down, ba a poor last.

i'm merely after breakfast options as never been in them early. so sounds like qantas is a no go this ealry, cathay will be doing brekkie as will ba and AA an option too.

thanks

Thanks for the directions smile

In terms of the topic I think the BA lounges in general get a bit of wanted stick around breakfast. In my experience BA do a decent cooked breakfast spread.

BA lounge food is rubbish at all times, it seriously looks like school dinners.

I'd have to disagree. Cooked breakfast in the one at T5 by B gate is great.

You must've gone to a far posher school than I did. Ffs, it's nothing like school dinners at all. I had an evening meal in the BA lounge a few weeks back and it was very good, with a wide array of choice. Will be having breakfast on Saturday.

Seconded on that. Had a curry the other week which was superb.

I had breakfast in there the other day because my friends didn’t realise they could use the better lounges. It was perfectly fine, they had a little waffle station set up, there was a huge choice of food available and they rustled up some champagne when we asked because the Prosecco that was out wasn’t up to scratch apparently. I wouldn’t know, I was on the brewdogs.

Some people seem to lose all sense of perspective when discussing airport lounges. On the Priority Pass thread, someone described the Emirates lounge at DBX as "hell on Earth" rofl

I mean seriously. Watching TV, Gaza looks a tad worse.
