Following on from the terrorist attack in Indian Kashmir where 26 Hindu Indians were gunned down by what is believed ( by India ) to be Pakistan backed Muslim terrorists it seems tensions are rising rapidly

India has vowed to track the terrorists to the end of the earth

There have been a number of tit for tat actions by both countries since the attack

The UK has millions of residents from the two countries that aren't averse to bringing tensions on the sub continent onto the streets here in the U.K.

In retaliation, Pakistan closed its airspace for all Indian-owned or Indian-operated airlines, and suspended all trade with India, including to and from any third country.

It's also suspended the Simla ceasefire agreement and said any disruption to water supply would be considered an act of war

I bet it doesn't, though.

That'll make a change then

I mean, there aren't even millions of Pakistani and Indian born people in the UK. 456,000 and 880,000, respectively, for a total of 1,336,000.

What about the rest?

Those muslims are a bit weird, imagine telling a load of blokes to get off a bus so you can look at their willies.

Earthdweller referenced only the 'millions of residents from the two countries'. I presume intentionally.

Meh

I think your figures are a bit off

In the 2021 UK Census, 1,927,150 people identified as having Indian heritage, approximately 1.6 million people in the UK identified with the Pakistani ethnic group

And they have never been shy of bringing issues in their homelands onto the streets in the U.K.

Apart from an incident in Leicester a couple of years ago I'm not aware of any indians or Pakistanis "bringing issues from their homelands to the UK2.

What issues are you referring to?

But you didn't say people with heritage. You said people from those countries. Even allowing for loose language, it's patently incredible to contend that of 3,527,150 people 'millions... aren't averse to bringing tensions on the sub continent onto the streets here in the U.K.'

It's a completely nonsensical assertion.

Likewise, you referenced only those born in the UK.

Hence my question about the rest, who were not born in the UK.

There was more Indians here in 2021 than you’ve got for the total Indian / Pakistani population now , and how many arrived over the last few years , your figures are way off for Indian / Pakistani populations in the uk for 2025

Over 3 million Indian / Pakistanis here legally then , seems very light to me , though no doubt very high proportions of illegals

That was serious unrest, over a most serious cause. Cricket.

biggrin

You make a good point- there have been loads of PAK vs IND matches in the UK, without any issues. So I’m curious as to what Earthdweller is referring to.

High proportion of illegals? What, like 70%? 90%?

A very rough Google suggests 100k Indian and maybe double that for Pakistani illegal immigrants.

Outside the purview of census information and estimates.

Wasn’t there some kind of study done at some point, perhaps by the food industry, that suggested the population was in fact nearer 80 million?

I’d be amazed if the population of Indians and Pakistanis is as low as 4 million.

India is ruled by a sectarian nationalist who is hellbent on creating civil war, shipping hindus into a muslim majority area, stripping the area's autonomy, generally noising the place up by being an arse. The Pakistani govt may be stupid enough to give him cover for his nonsense by responding.
