If it's anything like Prey, it should be pretty good.

Or one to avoid. What this time, a toddler takes on the intergalactic manifestation of the devil?

That is the problem. Arnie worked as he was the first to kill one. Then every film since they lose. Kind of undermines their 'predator' status...more prey at this point.

The trophy room

What's the centre skull? Might be made up, but there's a bit of Independence Day alien or War Of The Worlds (the Tom Cruise one) martian in it with the frill.

Also, Elle Fanning has Weyland Yutani eyeballs. So there's an Alien crossover planned down the line.

Answering myself, the skull is more likely to be ID4, not WotW, as ID4 is a Fox/Disney IP along with Alien and Predator.

Set in the future and features the young Predator as the protagonist.

I'm glad they're doing something new with the franchise, the animated one looks great and Prey was very enjoyable. Connections to the Alien franchise are very interesting and I'm wondering why give it away so early on. Given the lack of information about Alien Earth, I wonder if they'll connect somehow.

Not totally sold on the new design for the Predator but will probably look fine in the actual film.

Another one for 'coincidence or intentional?', the pred has the same broken lower left tusk as the pred in the AvP comic issue #2

Something feels off about that Predator design, like it's a bit too human

It's the proportions not matching the usual Predator design and being more regular human. I think the head is the bit that's most obvious from a quick glance.

They mess around with the design in every one of the films it's in but this one most obviously doesn't meet the 'look' on a first impression.

Best comparison I've seen is it looks more like someone in an expensive cosplay outfit rather than an actual alien creature

This interview is about Killer of Killers, but Dan Trachtenberg does confirm at the end that the skull in the trophy room is the Independence Day alien.

A bit like these guys in real life? You would think they are off to war instead chasing essentially a scared cat around some muddy fields smile

I had some slight reservations about the design of the Predator after that first trailer, but for some reason seeing this one I'm completely over it and think it looks fantastic. I'm not sure why, I actually went back and rewatched the first one to see if they tweaked the design. They don't appear to, it's just seeing him at different angles makes it work I think.

After watching Killer of Killers this looks like a brilliant follow on. The story seems to be genuinely original as well, whilst tying into the wider universe. Looking forward to this alot now.
