Eco button light up when off and voltage drop
Discussion
Hi All, hoping someone can advise here
I bought a 2021 Trafic in December and been converting it to a camper. With all the getting in's and out's, the van was slow to turn over when I did take it out once in a while as put this down to low battery as every time you lock and unlock the light come on and every time you open a front door the dash would light up radio display the time.
I put in a new battery and have been monitoring voltage, which does seem to go down each day bit not by a huge amount. (Also hard to tell how much as know voltage change with the quite big different between day and night temp currently)
I have taken it away on 2 single nights and noticed this both times when away. Vehicle unlocked for about 8 hours and not opened the front doors, just the rear and slinging door. Getting ready for bed all seems fine as I pass stuff over the back of the seats to store over night (again not opening the front doors) Few minutes later go to close the curtain between the front and rear and cab see the Ego button next to the gear stick illuminated, dash not lit up at all. If I press the eco button, the eco light up on the dash even though the ignition is off and no keys in it!!!
Think not a lot I can do so lock the doors using the central locking button on the dash and then after a few minutes both the eco button and the central locking light go off.
Can anyone advise what is going on as starting to wonder when this happens at other times and if it's related to the low battery all this time.
Currently on Saturday after letting the battery rest it was 12.77 volts after 48 hours is 12.54 volts so a 10% drop storage wise which seems excessive to me
Thanks

I believe there is a "preparation for camper" option code which has preparation for a 2nd battery and also adjusts some of the parameters of the various electronic modules, so that the vehicle with key off but open (and doors open) doesn't keep those modules awake for such a long time, ie they go to sleep and consume very little current, saving the engine/start battery from going flat with camper use.
One other thing - much simpler - it might be, is activation of glow plugs with driver's door open.
Get yourself a decent ammeter and learn how to use it, and you can get a proper grip on what's happening in the various states of:
- vehicle locked (sleep)
- vehicle recently locked (there will be a timeout on the modules not yet reached) and the time it takes to go to sleep
- unlocked, doors closed
- unlocked, driver's door opened
- unlocked, other doors opened
- key in ignition but not turned
- key on engine off
- key on engine on
