The fixed side steps have ‘solid looking’ cast metal brackets… but I read that they should not be used to support the car.

The actual jacking points are still accessible and the car comes with a scissor jack that features a 3-4” protrusion that can pass through the square opening on the bracket and make contact with the actual jacking points.

I was hoping to use my 3T trolley jack to lift a corner.

What is the solution here?

I rarely use the official jacking points on most vehicles. Usually I find a spot somewhere like a suspension to subframe mounting point or similar. I don't know what the Disco 5 looks like underneath though.

I would pick it up by a suspension pick-up point or subframe mount. IME the original jacking points in the sills are marginal on most cars when the body is new let alone when the tin worms have been at it for a few years.

As above, I too generally jack on suspension points rather than actual jack points, having said that, as this is a fairly common set-up does somebody make a jacking point puck that does the same as the nose on the supplied jack?
