I've just pulled out an oven to get access to something and found the following.

Is this normal? Presumably this is the rear fan which a surprising amount of electronics required to make a spinny thing spin.

Should I be concerned?

Oven is a pyrolytic self cleaning one if that makes a difference. It's a few years old but not cheap when bought and has been otherwise fine. Everything else on the oven looks clean and good, inside and out. It gets a lot of use and the pyrolytic function used regularly. I do also clean it with old fashioned oven cleaner occasionally to give it a thorough clean.

Could it be just what's dripped through and out from where you've sprayed cleaner into the fan?

Thanks both. Just curious.

It probably is just the cleaning stuff in hindsight. I do tend to be a bit heavy handed with spraying it everywhere, choking on the fumes and making my hand sting like hell becuase I forget to use the provided gloves.
