Driving Calais to Verona

Hi. I am planning to shortly drive from Calais to Verona ideally via Lake Maggiorre. Ideally dont really want to be committed to motorways as keen to take a more scenic route to Lake Maggiore across 3 days before we go forward to Verona. My first post on this forum. Would appreciate any tips or advice as to suggested routes. TIA.
