Shoulders, back and neck especially but also legs and arms.

Is it an age thing (approaching 40)?, a tall person thing (190cm)? or a cheap "Italian" foam mattress thing? Maybe a 10hrs sitting down staring a computer screen thing?

Just kinda sprung up upon me, didn't really notice it before, getting out of bed the last few mornings like an old man. Is yoga/pillates/stretching something I should be incorporating into my "fitness regime" (gym once a week)?

I had this a few years ago. Waking up in the morning feeling like I'd been beaten up. Also a tall person, for me it was my hips.
I put it down to a crap mattress at the time, so bought a new one from Ikea which helped, but to be honest, I think being overweight and doing a manual job wasn't helping. I'm back to a normal weight now so spring out of bed.

So probably a combination of both?

Stretching exercises won't do you any harm so worth trying. Pilates has helped me immensely with back pain.

I sleep on my sides.I was waking up with shoulder pain every day .I swapped out my firm mattress for a medium one with a softer upper layer and I'm much improved. The change was overnight....no pun intended smile
