I’m looking to replace the key case for the valet key on my 2017 vantage. For some reason it looks very worn, specifically the buttons even though I mostly use the glass key. Any recommendations to source for easy replacement, without send the whole key off?
Cheers Pete

Exactly this LTP. I bought a button set from Phoenix for my valet key and although it wasn’t cheap it really is very high quality and makes the key much more useable and will no doubt add to its longevity. It also looks a lot better than the OEM. BRM.

They are a funny thing those two main 'keys' for the n/a cars. One is a lovely tactile thing, stainless and glass, but flawed in that there's no ring and if you drop it just once it's broken. The leather thing is a sort of solution but is fiddly.

The plastic key is just poor. In addition to again having nowhere to attach to a key ring, it would look cheap on a tractor and has no place being anywhere near any Aston. In addition it warps and gets stuck in the mechanism and the buttons are made of something that seems to dissolve when coming in contact with a human finger.

The whole 'ECU' thing really was interesting in concept but deeply flawed in execution.

I see the new DB12 key reintroduced some bits of that original concept (ie the glass with psuedo holographic effect emblem) which is nice. It can't be pushed into a socket and be backlit in use like the older cars though.

If anyone has a definitive solution for the rubbishy plastic key please post some pics and links...

In the meantime - be careful if considering the phoenix set of 4 seperate buttons. They don't fit properly, require a permanent mod to the case, are held in by sellotape, the printing wears off quickly and they are hideously expensive. It's not a good solution.

Here's the best I found: 2 rows rather than four seperate buttons, they fit better and are a fraction of the Phoenix price at just £20
