Have you ever been? How was it? What's the ticketing process like?

Thanks in advance!

Ticketing is by ballot I think on the Masters website. Not sure what chances of getting tickets are. Lots of rules, including no mobile phones or cameras course on the tournament days (Thursday - Sunday) or indeed smart watches to be used for messages, texts, calls etc. I had a look myself, as I wouldn't mind going ha ha!

Ticketing window for 2026 is June 1 - June 20 this year

That will have to do with gambling and places bets in advance? More restrictions that a music gig, screw that. laugh

They say it's to maintain the authenticity of the tournament and give the 'patrons' the best experience. Not spectators, they are patrons. You can't take any food in with you, they restrict bag sizes and even dictate what sort of chairs you can take in. They can't have armrests for example!

I actually quite like the sound of no mobiles laugh

I'll be registering, for sure. Guess the odds are pretty low though.

You can buy package online which cost £££!
My good friend bought such package (including flights) for his Dad over to watch the Masters for his surprised birthday present.

There's no need to bring food and drinks as they are exceptionally value (and apparently very tasty too). Good article below outlining the Masters cheap food

Registration for the ballot is here:

Chances of getting tickets = extremely low.

Else it’s a case of paying ££££ from someone like this:

I know of someone whose wife managed to get him ballot tickets for the practice days for his 50th birthday.

I’ve been to Augusta when driving from Asheville to Savannah a couple of years ago. We love watching the Masters and thought we could get a photo outside the gate. Fat chance! You’d have more luck getting near the Whitehouse..! Although the course is wedged in between a main road, some houses and a general road, you can’t even get to the gates, let alone to the actual entrance. It’s ringed with a sold metal fence. Not quite the same as the likes of St Andrews!

In fact, a couple of days later we got chatting to a guy who loved golf and, having sold his business, was wealthy enough to have several houses in the US and overseas. He’d never managed to get tickets, though had - through a connection - once played a round there. He was like an excited schoolboy describing the experience. And his photos: just the one outside the gate before he had to hand over his phone.

We don’t play golf but, in spite of the disappointing visit, would love to go. Might just pitch in to the ballot.

Thank you for the links. The £3.4k package looks interesting.

I have been to a major golf event and must say I found it a bit disappointing in terms of actually seeing golf being played. You could see the head of the club appear above a crowd, then disappear, then reappear... and then some applause. The television experience seems far better.

But for the experience of visiting Augusta, then yes, that would be something. You don't need to take food with you (they supply it at very low prices) and nobody shouts "IN THE HOLE!" on every single shot - lovely. No phones either. Lovely.
