Hello,

Apologies in advance of my lack of mechanical knowledge just wanted to see if anyone had any thoughts on this.

I had a clutch replacement as mine was completely gone. The clutch was replaced and dual mass flywheel. Car is a Peugeot 2008 crossway (2015).

Since having the repair I am now noticing a rattling sound (like a pain boiling over). This is only noticeable in the lower gears (1st to 3rd) and the noise seems to be when I accelerate harshly.

I took it back and explained this to the garage. They had a look and stated it was unrelated to the clutch and noticed other faults at the time which I was then charged extra for (gearbox leak).

Drove the car away and the rattling sound was still prevalant. Took it back the garage again and explained I believe it to be the clutch as this sound did not exist prior. They had the car back again and mentioned that it wasn't the clutch and I would need something on the exhaust replacing and the catalytic converter.

I then took the car to another garage and they had a look. They believe it could be linked to the clutch but did not look into it further but did also notice still oil under the gearbox which was also meant to have been resolved.n

Does anyone have thoughts on what the fault may be and would you go back to the original garage?

Many thanks

It could be a lot of things. Since I can't see the car, I'd not want to guess or list them all. You need to find a garage you're happy with and give them the opportunity to diagnose it.

Thank you for your response. This is part of the issue as the original garage who replaced the clutch believe it is something to do with the exhaust and catalytic converter but another garage I took it to believe it's connected to the clutch. I took it back to the original garage twice and they still claim it is not the clutch. I just found it strange as there was no rattling sound prior to having the clutch replaced. I shall persevere
