peugeot e2008 no diagnostics anywhere
Discussion
So I had a warning light pop up on my Peugeot e2008 and other than that, literally nothing I can tell is wrong with the car. Checked all the functions, charging and holding charge fine etc. Everything you'd expect to work, works.
I have now taken it to 2 independent garages both have told me they cannot diagnose the issue because Peugeot won't give them the correct software to do so (which I'm pretty sure is against the law?). I really would like to avoid paying £180 for diagnostics so any kind of idea of what it is or where I could go to get it diagnosed would be incredibly helpful.
The warning is 'electrical traction system fault' which I know is essentially an EV check engine light but I really have no further detail than that. I am raging a little bit over it as the car is only 6 months out of warranty and 26000 miles on the clock.

It needs the right software. A local to you member of this organisation should be able to help, but it will cost you. https://hevra.org.uk

Thanks for this! I just checked and the third garage I've booked for Wednesday is on this list where the others weren't. So third time lucky (thankfully nobody has charged me for the failed attempts)SteBrown91 said:
Its not against the law for cars to need manufacturer spec systems. Cars have to be made to OBD2 standard but anything beyond that the manufacturer is free to lock away behind their own systems.
I've been told there is some sort of get around the legal side of it but the Peugeot guy himself said it shouldn't be the case when I told him at the service centre so I'm hoping someone can do itdell44 said:
There is a Facebook group Peugeot planet 2000 Lexia diagbox diagnostics UK members have clones of the dealers software. Most will read codes for a drink. There is a map in the files section. Message a few people local to you and they should assist.
Thanks! I think this will be a last resort but I've joined, hopefully the third garage is third time lucky. Gassing Station | EV and Alternative Fuels | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
