If for security, then I quite like the Micodus 4G relays. You can wire them in alongside another required power source, ignition or fuel typically and then remotely enable or disable the relay. Also gives you various tracking capabilities too.
2 downsides:
1. They do need a signal to operate them.
2. They're chinese, so the app is therefore also chinese.
I've never found 1 to be an issue - it seems quite robust
And for 2, if you are that concerned you can connect the device to other hosted services, including your own if you really want:
