I decided to do some cooking today that required me to kneed dough. We have a food processor, which I was dismayed to discover had two feet missing and a bad death wobble.

By putting it on the floor, and weighting it with my foot, I managed to make some dough. The smell of hot electricals still lingers in the kitchen.

It's time for a new one, but what? I note that one can spend car money on a posh one. But I don't want to spend that. Any tips from people who cook a bit?

Many thanks.

Magimix is pretty much the default choice unless you want to spend stupid money on commercial machines. Mine is brilliant and comes with a variety of attachments for things like kneading dough.

We don't have one (We use the Kitchen Aid or the bread machine for dough) but for value and versatility you wont go far wrong with a Ninja 3 in 1 ................

Don't tell her but I've been married to my food processor for 38 years.

We have had a kMix for years -- they are not cheap but last.
