I have a mercedes c class 2016 w205 saloon. The sunroof doesn't close as it should. I'm having to press down with my hand at the front of the car so it's closed fully. Anyone got any ideas what the problem could be? And any places to get it repaired? Preferably near London

I had similar on mine and the rails just needed a re grease. To dry causing to much friction making it think something was blocking it so it wouldn’t close.

Yep, clean and regrease before sending to a workshop.

Liqui moly do a suitable one, the actual Mercedes sunroof grease is about £100 a tin!

As it happens, mine was done last month. The indy referred to the Special Rubber Lubricant as "rocking horse p155" and billed me a princely £17 + VAT for the tube, or whatever.

By the way, if your car has wet carpets it's because the sunroof drains at the front are blocked. This is a particular risk if your car is parked outside. The drains run down inside the A-pillars and are very awkward to clear. And be warned, wet carpets lead to corrosion in some electrical connectors under the driver's seat through which stuff like exhaust sensors are connected. You can guess the rest...

Question: Is the panel between the front of your sunroof and the windscreen failing? If so, forget expensive fixes. You can buy some black vinyl from Amazon for about £9 and fit it yourself to cover the damage.
